Cavalier Choir Boosters 2025 Scholarship Program
Students may be outstanding in different ways and this scholarship program seeks to recognize and reward students accordingly, but with an emphasis on music participation, future music studies and character. Academic performance may be a consideration in awarding or not awarding any scholarship.
● Program will award up to six (6) Merit-Based scholarships as allowed by current budget to outstanding graduating Cavalier Choir Seniors, as follows:
$1,000 EMMA IVANOVSKY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
One (1) Award given to a student who has demonstrated exceptional character, or who has overcome personal challenges, or who is known for consistently going above and beyond expectations.
$1,000 MUSIC PARTICIPATION SCHOLARSHIP
One (1) Award given to a student with exceptional music participation and who plans to major in a music related field.
$1,000 EXCEPTIONAL DEDICATION & WORK ETHIC SCHOLARSHIP
One (1) Award given to a student who has demonstrated exceptional dedication or work ethic. This student may be someone whose musical participation has been limited by extrinsic factors, including but not limited to family demands, such as a job that contributes to family finances, assisting with care for a family member, other family issues or hardships.
$2,250 MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS (Cumulative Awards)
Three (3) Awards of $750 each given to students with strong music participation in one or more years, plus outstanding citizenship (character, community service, work ethic, etc.)
If, in a given year, any of the $1,000 scholarships are not awarded, an additional $750 scholarship may be awarded to a qualifying student for each $1,000 scholarship that is not awarded.
If the Scholarship Committee determines there are not 6 qualified applicants in any given year, they may opt to award fewer scholarships. Any funds reserved for scholarships that are not awarded in a given year shall carry over to the general and unrestricted funds available for the following year’s Cavalier Choir Boosters Budget; unused funds will not carryover as scholarship funds.
The deadline for this scholarship application is April 15, 2025. A recommendation is required and is also due by that date. Please make sure to have both the full application and recommendation sent by the deadline. Late applications will NOT be considered. Scholarships will be announced at the Choir Banquet.
