Mr. Horton has been a high school choir director since 2020.  In 2023, he came to College Park High School as the Assistant Choir Director and was promoted to be the Head Choir Director in 2026. 

Prior to coming to College Park, Mr. Horton taught at Summer Creek High School in Humble, TX as the Assistant Choir Director. He graduated from The Woodlands High School where his dad, Dr. Horton, was his choir director.  He earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Tech University where he was a student of Dr. Allen Zabriskie, Richard Bjella and Karl Dent.  Choirs at College Park under Mr. Horton’s direction have earned consistent superior ratings at UIL Concert & Sightreading along with superior ratings at the American Classics Madrigal Festival held in San Antonio.   

Mr. Horton has served TMEA as a contest site host, clinic & concert site host, and as a section leader for All-Region Honor choir.

In addition to working at College Park, he enjoys hiking, playing disc golf, cooking, eating, spending time with friends, family and dogs (Libby and Nala) and playing Magic the Gathering.  His favorite snack is Buffalo Pretzels, and his favorite drink is Coffee.

Graduating from Klein Oak High School, Ms. Young was born and raised locally in Spring and has grounded her career in music education in the greater Houston area. She is an alumna of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, where she earned her degree in Music Education and held leading roles in musical theatre and opera productions. Beginning her ninth year directing choirs, Ms. Young is excited to step into the high school space after leaving a history of success from her time in junior high, where her choirs consistently earned Excellent and Superior ratings.

Ms. Young loves the color purple, and her favorite snacks/drinks are pretzels, Nerds Gummy Clusters, and most importantly, Diet Coke. Her favorite things to enjoy in her free time are reading and playing video games, and spending time with her fiancé, their two cats Sunny and Tabitha, and their dog Zayda. While Ms. Young is eager to begin the new school year at College Park High School; she is incredibly excited counting down the days until her October wedding and cannot wait to continue her joy and happiness both inside and outside of the classroom.
