Military Salute

It is time to get geared up to honor our military veterans and active service members.  We will have a concert (with no dinner this year due to facility conflict) Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium.  Tickets are already available.  Get yours as soon as possible, as we might sell out.  We have always had great attendance and we only have one show this year.

All choirs will perform in this concert.  Please make sure you have no schedule conflicts on this evening.  Plan for a 5:00 p.m. call time.

Posters for the Hall of Honor can be submitted until November 5.  For more detailed information look under “Forms” in the “Downloads” section.

Auditions for solo and group acts will be held during advisory and after school the week of November 1.  Students may perform in one solo AND one group act, but may not be featured in more than one group act. 

If you are interested in helping prepare this event, please get in touch with our Booster Club.  This is their special event and they need your help!


Region Audition Information

We will meet at College Park at 6:30 a.m. Please wear your choir polo and jeans.  

The audition is at Klein Forest High School, 11400 Misty Valley Dr, Houston, TX 77066-3499

Your parents may pick you up after you audition. YOU MUST INFORM US IN WRITING, IN ADVANCE (by Thursday 10/28) if you are not riding the bus both ways. Only PM requests will not ride the bus TO the school.  You can email

Remember… you must be passing ALL classes for this 9 weeks to audition.  Keep those grades up!


Concert Tonight

Please be ready for an amazing concert tonight!  We will open the doors at 6:40 p.m. and the concert starts at 7:00 p.m.  Knox and CP will join forces at the end, so plan to stick around!

NY Trip Fundraising Details

Great news!  The Cavalier Choir Boosters have set up the following fundraisers to help with the cost of the trip.  Please start thinking about how you can help with the following opportunities:

  • October 16, 2010 - Region Choir Workshop
  • November 11, 2010 - Care packages for troops
  • December 2010 - Caroling
  • January 2011 - Talent Show with SILENT AUCTION
  • February 11, 2011 - Singing Valentines

Also, students participating can earn service hours toward letter jacket points! 

We will also offer two fundraisers through the school and will get more information to you as soon as possible.

NY Trip Update

I have received an important update to your NY trip information.  Mr. Murrell has just asked me to make sure that any parent that is using frequent flyer miles to send a student to New York must travel with the child and either attend as a chaperone or sign the student over to us at that time.  I apologize for the late notice on this.  Please know that Mr. Murrell does not want any student traveling without an adult. Any student traveling on a different flight than the group must have an adult with them.

Also, please know that deposits are due tomorrow.  I cannot secure a place on the trip without the deposit.  If you have not received the paperwork that came out last week, please visit our website:

Good news: We found a flight on Continental that have brought the cost of the trip down. $100 deposits are still due 9/22.  The first payment, due 10/15 will now be $250 instead of $300.
