NY Trip Update

I have received an important update to your NY trip information.  Mr. Murrell has just asked me to make sure that any parent that is using frequent flyer miles to send a student to New York must travel with the child and either attend as a chaperone or sign the student over to us at that time.  I apologize for the late notice on this.  Please know that Mr. Murrell does not want any student traveling without an adult. Any student traveling on a different flight than the group must have an adult with them.

Also, please know that deposits are due tomorrow.  I cannot secure a place on the trip without the deposit.  If you have not received the paperwork that came out last week, please visit our website: www.cavalierchoir.com.

Good news: We found a flight on Continental that have brought the cost of the trip down. $100 deposits are still due 9/22.  The first payment, due 10/15 will now be $250 instead of $300.

A Note from Norvelle

Dear Cavalier Choir:

I just wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude.  I am so thankful to be working with such incredible young ladies and men.  I am impressed by your work-ethic and am pleased by the progress you are making.  To those of you auditioning for District, thank you for setting the bar of excellence so high.  Best of luck in your audition this weekend.  Thank you for working together and encouraging each other to achieve your musical goals.  Please be there to support the Mixed Choir as we sing the National Anthem at your homecoming game this Friday. I am proud to work with you and thank you for a great beginning.

Sincerely,

Miss Norvelle

Choir News

  • Thank you to the many parents that have volunteered their time with the Cavalier Choir Booster Club. If you have not had a chance to do so yet, please see the website www.cavalierchoir.com to join the booster club and volunteer your time and support these amazing young singers.

  • Please make sure you have made a payment toward your choir fees at this point.

  • Trip information should be coming up in the next few weeks. Please stay current with the website and talk to your students about this opportunity. Many families still need to return the interest paper that stated the intent to attend or not. These are available on the website to download if your student still needs to turn one in.

  • If your student has not been fitted for a uniform, he or she will be taken care of during the school day. Please have the ladies bring the black, closed-toe shoes in which they will perform to school. The ladies will not be fitted without shoes. Once your choir fees have been paid, your student may bring home his or her uniform.

  • District choir auditions are Saturday, September 25 at Klein Collins. All student auditioning (except those who have requested PM times for school conflicts) will ride the bus from College Park to the auditions. Students can call parents when they are finished auditioning. Parents can come to Klein Collins to sign students out. No student may drive. No student may be released unless a parent is physically visible to the chaperones and signs the student out with the chaperones. A bus will be available to return students to College Park. If your student had signed up for District Auditions and chooses not to participate, a $15.00 fee is due to reimburse entry costs. Please make sure students auditioning are practicing at home!

  • Keep in mind our first concert is Monday, October 18th! The kids are working hard to prepare this music. We know you will enjoy it!
